Pro-bono

I’ve discovered that persuading people to let you work for free is not that easy.

It seems that the person accepting the free work needs to be particularly secure that if it isn’t done for free it won’t be done at all and that the piece of work really does need to be done.

The Youth Sport Trust have given me amazing support over the years, and it has been wonderful to do some innovative pro-bono work for them. This has included:

  • Initial research and testing on Skills 2 Achieve
  • Evaluation and development of Curricular coaches in primary schools
  • Monitoring and evaluation of Connecting Communities
  • Interviews for the YST 20th anniversary publication

I’ve also had the pleasure of supporting three individuals in Africa:

  • Anderson Chedego
  • Vincent Banda
  • Ambrose Nazzah

Anderson is just finishing his degree … Vincent is establishing himself as a photographer in Lusaka Zambia … Ambrose has had to move to South Africa to find work, but is still developing youth sport in the way only he can.
